A horse is a horse of course, of course!

Our good friend Miss Paula invited us over the her house to meet her mini horse Poppy. As you can see, Trip was not so much a fan of the mini horse or the cold weather. He had much more fun exploring Miss Paula's house. I think we got out without breaking anything.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas......

Yes, that is a lovely original Fontanini donkey from my prized Nativity. Hopefully it doesn't include lead paint.

I've never doubted the importance of a good professional photographer but somehow it means a lot more once you have children. I used to wonder why people would spend hundreds of dollars on that coveted Christmas card from a portrait studio instead of the lovely Wal-Mart value cards that I always use. Now I know.....it's because taking a photo of 17 monkeys on the tilt a whirl at the county fair on a hot August day in Mississippi would be much more enjoyable....and easy. So...for those of you who enjoy getting a card from us it may not happen this year. But if not, here are the boys in all their glory having a grand old time spreading some holiday cheer.

Brothers

Sunday, October 14, 2007

Hello strangers!

Okay, so I've been a real slacker for 3 whole months! Life has been quite busy around our home. We've had burn injuries, first days of school and first birthdays. And now we've got some sort of a virus that both boys have had. So I apologize for the HUGE break in posting. I'll try to be better this time around.

Did you know....

the human head weighs 8 pounds?

Happy, happy birthday baby!

Cooper turned the BIG ONE on September 28. He loved his alligator cake...as did his parents and brother.

Yes, those gas fireplaces do get hot!

On Trip's first day of school, Cooper stuck his hands on our gas fireplace glass. It was our first trip to the ER. He ended up with a hard cast for 3 weeks and a dressing on his other hand. He's doing much better now...although Mommy's heart still hurts:(

Trip's first day of school was very exciting. He loves going one day each week and comes home with pictures that he is very proud of.

Ski Cooper

Cooper was very excited to find out that Colorado named a ski resort after him. This was our trip to Leadville this summer!

Our first train ride on the Georgetown railroad

Everyone had a great time on our first family train ride. Trip thought it was especially fun! He's very into trains these days.

The Highline Canal Trail

We took the kids out in their new jogging stroller. Isn't this just what you want to see when you have your children? Coyotes are quite prevalent in all areas around here. David has actually seen them in our apartment complex walking the dog.

Flying over the Cuckoos Nest

I've been considering creating a new blog for my personal thoughts for several weeks now. Trying to come up with a new name is very hard. Then I figured...why would I write another blog, I can barely find time to post on this one. So....I decided to edit the name a bit, per some familial help and combine my children and my own thoughts in "Flying over the Cuckoos Nest". Some might think that this has a negative ring to it, but I only speak the truth and I do in fact live most of the time in the Cuckoos Nest.

Things that have made me happy today:
1. No one called Cooper a girl in the church nursery today even thought he was wearing one of his man dresses. Now, this is something that truly amazes me about living outside of the South. I'm all about a nice casual outfit and all but I was raised to dress your children up when you go in public. Not a universal thought.
2. McDonald's has a 0.69 cent xlarge diet coke special right now. This is great because it can actually last you all day (unless you're my brother and then it will last you 5 minutes).
3. JoAnn's Fabrics is a very fun store. It has lots of great scrapbooking items and nice picture frames. Each time I go there I think I should start scrapbooking and I buy some new supplies and they sit in a box. It always seems like a good idea....it just doesn't work out for me.
4. The fact that Cooper just spit up and Trip went and got a burp cloth to wipe his mouth. How sweet! !!! Then he knocked him on the ground. This for some reason reminds me of the time my brother gave me a purple popsicle in my crib and my mom came in to find me with a blue mouth and thought I wasn't breathing. Oh....the memories. More to come.....

Our new stroller

Mommy and Daddy got us the great new stroller for all of our "off road" activities. We were very excited.
